Board Course vision
Effective management of hypertensive patients is associated with a reduction in cardiovascular mortality, stroke and myocardial infarction. For all hypertensive patients, blood pressure reduction to an optimal range is the goal. Yet, despite treatment with ≥ 3 different antihypertensive drugs, in some patients, blood pressures remain above target.
Under these circumstances, a systematic holistic approach, including lifestyle counselling, antihypertensive medication adjustments and device-based therapies is key.
The Resistant Hypertension Course (“RHC”) Board is pleased to announce that Costas Tsioufis (Assistant Professor of Cardiology, University of Athens, Chief of Hypertension Unit, First Cardiology Clinic, University of Athens, Greece) is joining Felix Mahfoud as Co-Chairperson of the RHC 2014. Costas Tsioufis will represent the European Society of Hypertension, where he currently holds the position of Secretary.
