Atul PATHAK, RHC online Coordinator


Atul PATHAK, MD, PhD is a Pharmacologist and Cardiologist. He was a resident in Cardiology from 1996 to 2001 and trained in Toulouse (France), Aachen (Germany) and Cleveland (Cleveland Clinic, USA). After that period, he obtained his MD at the Faculty of Medicine in Toulouse and obtained a tenure position as a research scientist at INSERM up to 2002. He obtained his European Phd in Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology in 2005. He also worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Cardiology at Hospital Erasme and Free University of Bruxelles from 2004 to 2005 and as a visiting professor in 2010 at Baker Heart Institute (Melbourne, Australia).

Atul Pathak joined the Faculty of Medicine at the University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse as an Associate Professor in 2002 and has been Assistant Professor since 2005. He has been nominated full tenure Professor in Clinical Pharmacology in 2009 (Toulouse, France). He is currently leading a Clinical Unit of Cardiovascular Pharmacology in the University Hospital of Toulouse and the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Center.

He is a nucleus member of the French Society  of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the French Society of Hypertension and Cardiology and the working group for Pharmacology and Therapeutics of the ESC. He has been elected President of the Cardiovascular Pharmacology Working Group of the French Society of Cardiology (from 2008-2012).



Sebastian Ewen, RHC online Facilitator


Sebastian Ewen is an assistant physician at the Saarland University Hospital, Depart-ment of Internal Medicine III - Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Homburg Saar, Germany an ESH Hypertension Excellence Center. His studies were in human medicine at the Philipps-University, Marburg, Germany and at the Clinica Alemana in Santiago, Chile. He is on the board of the Germany Hypertension League “Forum for young hypertensiologists”. Sebastian Ewen has authored peer-reviewed articles in hypertension, renal denervation, drug adherence and sports medicine.  He has also participated in various clinical trials in hypertension, renal denervation and chronic heart failure.  



Dagmara Hering, RHC online Contributor


Dagmara Hering (MD, PhD) graduated in medicine from the Medical University of Gdansk, Poland. She is a specialist in internal medicine and hypertension. She has been working at the Department of Hypertension and Diabetology in Gdansk since 2001 and as a clinical visiting research fellow at the Baker IDI Heart & Diabetes Institute in Melbourne since 2011, involved in the renal denervation program. Her research has been focused on the role of the sympathetic nervous system in physiological and pathological states including hypertension and co-morbidities. She is an expert in microneurography having conducted more than 1000 studies over the last 12 years.



Benjamin Honton,  RHC online Contributor


Benjamin HONTON was resident in Cardiology from 2005 to 2010 and trained in Toulouse (France). After that period, he obtained his MD at the Faculty of Medicine in Toulouse and obtained a position of master research scientist at INSERM from to 2009 to 2010. He joined the Faculty of Medicine at the University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse as an assistant physician from 2010 to 2012. He was laureate of the interventional cardiologist certificate in 2012 of the French Society of Cardiology.

After a one-year period of fellowship in cardiology and peripheral interventional department at the Clinic Pasteur (Toulouse), Benjamin Honton is since the 1st January 2014, a definitive associate of the Cardiovascular Interventional Unit of the Clinic Pasteur (Toulouse). 
He is also a member of the French Society of Cardiology and fellow of the European Society of Cardiology.
